My Personal Story

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and lived in a small apartment with my brother and grandmother. My grandmother did everything from her heart and she poured her light and love into everyone she met and raised my brother and I to do the same. From elementary through high school, I always looked for ways to pour love and light into others through volunteering and serving at my church.

After graduating high school, I moved to Texas to study geophysics and math at the University of Texas at Arlington. At the time, I saw myself as best serving the world by researching superconductors that would provide electricity to all without destroying the climate and the planet we live on. I worked as a nurse assistant and a tutor while in college and served the elderly and underserved children who lived in rougher areas and didn’t have access to paid tutors. After I graduated college, I went on to start an up-cycling business and worked in support roles.

In my support roles, I often found myself frustrated with not being able to help a user because of a limit or a feature that didn’t exist. My persistent and curious nature drove me to look into ways I could help users outside of just responding to tickets and I found user experience. Since then I have still been looking for ways to pour love and light into others through my projects both in and outside of work.
